Our first Dime Store opened inside Detroit’s historic Chrysler House (formerly the Dime Building) in 2014, bringing scratch-made food, brunch cocktails & creative comfort food to the Central Business District. A true downtown gem, this location keeps the brunch energy high, the food scratch-made, and the vibe unfussy.

Locally Owned & Operated
Dime Store Detroit was founded in 2014 by Larry Kahn, Ann-Marie Murphy & Jeff Alexander—three friends who wanted to bring scratch-made, chef-driven brunch to the heart of the city.
Executive Chef Josh Taylor — a French Culinary Institute grad with 30+ years in top kitchens across Chicago, Ann Arbor & Detroit — has led our kitchen since day one. His classical training and creative vision helped define the inventive dishes that put Dime Store on the map—and helped define Detroit’s modern brunch scene.
Together, they built Dime Store to be more than a place to eat—it’s a true neighborhood spot where guests become regulars, and regulars become friends, the food is always fresh, and brunch doesn’t cut corners.
Hosting a Group?
Dime Store Detroit is a cozy space—and we keep it first come, first served for all parties during regular hours. We can seat groups of up to 8 guests, but larger parties may be split between tables.
Planning a private event? We now offer full restaurant buyouts after 4pm, Monday through Friday. It’s a great way to enjoy the space all to yourself.

Parking Info
We validate 2 hours of parking at the Financial District Garage (131 W. Lafayette Blvd.). Just ask your server for our validation QR code during your visit.
