Dime Store Wins Hour Detroit’s “Best Diner” 2025

Plus finalist nods for Brunch & French Fries

There’s no chrome counter or bottomless pots of drip, but Hour Detroit readers just crowned both of our Dime Store locations “Best Diner” in the magazine’s 2025 Best of Detroit poll. We’ll gladly take the love—especially since the same voters also parked us among the finalists for best “Restaurant for Brunch” and “French Fries.”

Why the “diner” label still feels right

Sure, we’re chef-driven, scratch-made and a little more brunch-obsessed than your average greasy spoon. But the heart of a diner is community: neighborhood warmth, friendly faces and plates that feel like a hug. From our cozy original spot in downtown Detroit to our roomier Rochester Hills digs, that spirit is baked into every Duck Bop Hash, house-made jam and bowl of crispy, hand-cut fries.

A quick victory lap

Big thanks to everyone who voted. You’re the reason we get to keep pouring Zingerman’s coffee, slinging hash and dreaming up creative Chef’s specials. If you haven’t brunched with us yet, you’ll find us:
