We got a fun surprise at Dime Store Detroit this afternoon: comedian Matt Rife stopped in for a late brunch before his show tonight. If you were in the restaurant and thought you recognized the guy near the brioche French toast, you did. Syd, Kelly and Amber grabbed a quick photo with him on his way out — the kind of moment that always adds a little spark to the day.
We’re not a red-carpet restaurant, and Detroit isn’t exactly crawling with celebrity drop-ins, which is why this stuff genuinely delights us. When someone well-known pops in — any comedian, musician or actor passing through — it feels like a small nod to the work our team puts in every day. And honestly, it makes our staff’s day. If it brightens our staff or our guests’ afternoon, we’re all for it.
And for visitors heading to Little Caesars Arena later, this is exactly why brunch at Dime Store Detroit has become part of the pre-show routine for a lot of people. We’re here every day serving breakfast, brunch & lunch, including favorites like brioche French toast, Duck Bop Hash and the Cheesesteak Benedict.
Whether you’re here for the food, the vibe or the chance of bumping into someone you recognize, we’re always glad you stopped in.
